review of 2008 - march & april

march came roaring in like a lion - a lion of a snowstorm! shelly's brother, jerry, came to visit on the 7th & the next day it started snowing. in 24 hrs. we had a record 20" of snow, resulting in the "BLIZZARD OF 2008". churches were closed, stores were closed, and jerry's stay was prolonged. resulting in probably hundreds of stories to take back home like "when it snows in ohio, it really snows!" we were all in hibernation mode for almost a week!

here's a couple photos from easter. we always have an easter egg hunt that's for everyone. i think we hid over 200 eggs (all plastic) & they were all found! we had ruth & fred, all of our kids, & my dear friend, debbie, and her family for dinner.

april - eston was baptized on the 20th & we held a little reception afterwards for angela & justin's family & friends. justin's mom, judy, made the cake. wow!

our women's ministry team (that i'm a part of) held a spring salad luncheon in april. had a dorky theme, which i think was my idea: "hats off to spring". but we did make it an elegant affair for over 60 women. our favors were hatpins & my great-niece (beth) & i had a really good time making around 100 of them. she's amazingly crafty & so much fun to be with.

my psoriasis & psoriatic arthritis was getting worse & worse after being off enbrel since late january. started on something different:cyclosporin. it was the beginning of a downward spiral. everyday i was a little more nauseated, my stomach hurt more & more & the headaches began & lasted longer & longer. couldn't even begin to function till around 10 am. so everything i managed to do was only with shelly's help & the strenghth God provided.

went to lizard's thicket for a few days at the end of the month. only took 1 picture, while there, & it was of a giant lizard, sunbathing on the roof of a shed.
can't remember any other details from the trip. if i hadn't taken that picture, i wouldn't even remember going. oh! i just remembered. our last night there, we had a fish fry. betty & bobby & jerry & gambie fried fish in the bunkhouse (that jerry's fixed up) & betty made homemade onion rings that were amazing. i made deviled eggs & we sat around outside & the weather was beautiful. easton played around in the dirt & kept wanting to drink out of his momma's beer bottle. speaking of easton, (he's shelly's niece stacie's son) & he is adorable! reminds me of henry, with his dark hair & big dark eyes. there's nothing like a fish fry on a friday night in late april in the south. nothing like it! no siree! i'm tellin you the truth!

and 1 final thing happened in april. barn swallows started a nest in the corner of our front porch. 3 adults made the nest & took turns sitting on it. i thought it was pretty cool at that time. we'll see how i feel as time goes by!
