one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all

watching the inauguration today brought tears to my eyes so many times: the crowds, the beautiful obama family, george w & laura, the american flag, traditions, music,
and the knowledge that as a country, we are blessed by God.

what an awesome country we live in. it is unlike any other. it is the best country in the world and i am so proud to be an american.

on nov. 5th, the morning after the election, henry was here. (shelly was in south carolina & i had spent election night alone watching the returns.) while eating breakfast, henry & i were talking. he said "guess what, maymee, barack obama is going to be our president". i told him "i know!" & then he told me that his mom had told him that he needed to be extra nice to me today because i would be sad. i had to laugh because there were no secrets about how our children were voting & how we were voting. i said, "henry, i'm not sad, just disappointed. but the most important thing to know is that God is in control."

and He is!

this is a great day for our nation. a day of celebration for not only african americans but a day of celebration for all americans.

and i never dreamed i'd be watching it all with shelly & eva rose. God is so good.

eva's 1st inauguration:

snapping her fingers while aretha sings

contemplating her strategy for the 2048 presidential campaign

cheering with the crowd

wondering why oprah looks so sad

(that was oprah, wasn't it? didn't she look sad to you?)
{edited at 6:00 p.m. - that was NOT oprah, she was in earthtones with large sunglasses & no hat. my apologies to oprah & the other lady. so, who was she?}

til tomorrow -
blessings -
