a little potty humor

the view from inside our front door:

down boy 002

“hello, won’t you come in? i’m so glad to have you. please, let me take your coat.

do you need to use the restroom? my husband has it all ready for you.”

that is, if you need to “hurl”.

oh yes, such a nice thing to see as you walk in. am i the only person that’s bothered by this picture?

am i being way too picky? is it too much to ask to put the toilet seat down? (at least in the one bathroom that’s visible from the front door?)

well – i say - drastic times calls for drastic measures! (& the Chalk Ink Wet Wipe Markers)

down boy 005

but first, a disclaimer! i do not have a dog. nor do i have a dog who can read! what i have is a husband who needs to put the toilet seat down!

and no, i don’t call him “boy”. the phrasing is for emphasis.

and now – my chalk ink solution to my toilet seat/non-compliant husband:

down boy 001

i showed this picture to Jen at Sanctuary Arts & she thought it was hilarious. that gave me the courage to show it to the rest of you.

so far – he’s complying about 50% of the time. that’s a great improvement.

for better or worse, i’m linking up to a soft place to land’s diy tuesday.

DIY Day @ ASPTL

hope you all have a great week – things are a little crazy around here at the moment. hope to start blogging regularly, again, sometime soon!

Oh my goodness, I think I love you. That is hi-larious. At least now during that other 50% of the time, any guest who catches a glimpse will get a chuckle!

Can I try this with my 20 yr old?

Wonder if it would work?

This is really, really funny. I have a husband and three sons. You'd think there was a law about putting the toilet seat down. I've never known what to do about it. Thanks for the idea!!

Hahahaha! You've made a reader for life out of me with this one post. So great!

Bwahahahaha...I think it's perfect!!! You could also invent something that sends a shock to them if they cross over the bathroom door threshold without having closed the lid.

I fell in once in the dark when I was pg with my first. I said something really really ugly, but T didn't hear me b/c he can sleep through anything. :s

Where did you get those markers, and will they write on chalkboards??? I have been looking at target and WM and can't find any!

Thanks so much for your SWEET comment!!! :)

That is just too funny! And think what a great conversation piece for the guests that use it. LOL

Oh my goodness! Yes! My boys are actually really good about remembering but when my father-in-law comes to visit it's like a primitive battle. I will try this as a "gentle" reminder to him. He'll passively aggressively forget, but that's okay.

Thank you! I love it! Needed a big funny and that was perfect! Since our marriage in August, my husband's learning. He's about 85% now...

Love it!!! I'm taking a chalk marker upstairs right now! (With 3 boys and a hubby, I've gotten dunked more than once in the middle of the night!)

Okay, that is so funny! Brilliant!
I've never had any problem with my husband...when we first got married we made the rule that the lid has to be down, that way we both had a responsibility and by necessity the seat was down too.
But I do get a little grossed out when male guests leave the seat up...yuck! Even if you don't care at your own house, I'd think you'd make an exception at someone else's house!

That is hilarious! I am happy to say that I do not have this problem {except when we have my son's friends over}. My son and hubby both have learned {many years ago} to put the seat and lid down. I expect his future wife will thank me some day!

First time here! You are hilarious! I found you via SPTL!

I need to do that too for my big boy! I also have two small boys. This is what I've done for them. They are 6 and 9. I'm a SAHM who home schools.

Me: Mommy has a lot to do all day. Don't you agree?

Boys: Yes, Mommy.

Me: Could you help me out?

Boys: Yes, Mommy.

Me: Mommy loves our little front bathroom that you use. Do you see me cleaning it a lot?

Boys: Yes, you clean it ALL DAY LONG. (they may have heard that from me...as I was scrubbing the bowl, floor and walls for the umpteenth time)

Me: Would you mind sitting down when you go to the bathroom now? The pee pee goes all over the bathroom when you stand up. And it gets all stinky and yucky.

Boys: YUK!!! That's GROSS!

Me: Or you boys could clean the bathroom after you go? What do you think?

Boys: We'll sit down from now on Mommy!

Worked like a charm.

The seat is always down after my DH finishes, but since he retired 2 yrs. ago, the lid never goes down. I'm going to look for those markers! I assume they wash off easily...

That is hilarious! I need to do that for my father in law. Now it's to the point of dangerous since we have a toddler toddling around ... but I might have to get some of that!

LOL! Hey, whatever works! If it gets him to remember after seeing that...it was effective!

I'm like Kimba...that made me laugh out loud! Good idea!

So very funny, I should do the same on all the cupboard and drawers I find still open when I enter a room. Thanks for keeping it real.
