eat*mor*chikin

we received the most unusual invitation a few weeks ago.

we were invited to attend the “Premiere Night” at the new Chick-fil-A in our area.

the invitation came from the owners, our new neighbors from philly.

they are such a sweet couple (don’t they look sweet?) that we decided “why not?!?” “let’s go!”

santa was there to welcome us to the party

first – we were served these yummy chicken bites

next – they asked us if we would like soup.  i asked an incredibly intelligent question.  “what kind of soup?”

quess what the answer was?  of course, chicken!

it was delicious.  tasted like chicken n dumplin’s!

santa kept checking me out!

after serving us the appetizer & soup, we went up to the window to order anything we wanted.  we were stuffed by then – so i ordered a chicken salad sandwich & can’t remember what shelly ordered.  the chicken salad was good, but very southern style.  had relish in it & was served on sweet bread.

then there were som drawings & after that we were all given an enveloped filled with  coupons for free sandwiches.  the only catch was they weren’t for us.  we had to be made an “ambassador” & have to invite people to go with us to chick-fil-a & use the coupons on them.

this is shelly being sworn in as ambassador.

the last part was the best – dessert!  they served each a plate full of goodies.  i was so excited i forgot to take a picture.  fudge nut brownies, cheesecake & the best lemon meringue pie i’ve had in a long time.  oh, and itty bitty milkshakes, too.  delicious!

Nope!  That’s not true.  That wasn’t the best part of the night.

Get ready for what i have to tell you.

People, get ready!

Before we ate, one of the visiting people from management(in atlanta) did something you just don’t hear of.

Can you guess what he did?

He prayed.

Yes, he prayed.

He thanked God for the evening, for all of us, for the owners & their employees & for our dinner.

Isn’t that fantastic?????????????????????????????????????

I sat there & cried!

all in all, it was a fabulous time!  our first premiere & our first dining experience at chick-fil-a.  this one has an indoor playground so we’ll be visiting there often.

and don’t forget – eat mor chikin!

Where is this new Chick-Fil-A?

on broad street in blacklick, very, very close to metal container. oh the irony of it all. your dad works all those years with nothing in the area, he retires & everything moves in.

I don't like eating out because there aren't enough healthy choices, but chik-fil-a is one of the best for offering healthy foods. I've even read several reviews where they were given high marks for having healthy choices. When I'm at the mall, that's where I eat.

Glad you went...it looks like it was fun!

YES! I forgot the founder is Christian. That is so amazing. I would have cried, too! They are never open on Sundays. I am SO impressed with them. I knew there was something else I like about them!

Sounds like a fun evening out and since Chik-fil-a is Christian owned the prayer doesn't at all surprise me but is awesome just the same!

I adore Chick Fil A - I admire that they still close on Sundays, they often have worship music playing too, their childrens toys are useful AND their food is awesome!
