edited to read:obviously, i need a calendar for christmas! today is the 12th, the party was over on the 11th? who knew? everyone but me!
also, why can't i ever link up without a problem?
hopefully, i've posted this in time to make it to infarrantly creative's penneywise party.
Here’s an inexpensive gift that our women’s ministries gave to all of the women in our church last Christmas:
tissue holders for the purse size tissue packs.
all you need for each one is two 5 1/2”x8 1/2” pieces of fabric - & the tissues to go inside, of course. each one only takes a few minutes to sew up, unless there are 5 of you doing it, then it takes a lot longer, due to excessive talking (not on my part, of course). it’s a really great group project, too. we sewed, turned, poked, ironed, sewed & turned & stuffed. i’ll post the directions as soon as i get a chance. super easy!
we made over 200 for around $60.00. you can make them a lot less expensively if you don’t use “trendy” fabrics, like we did.
they were a huge hit!
and – this year (as in tomorrow) we’re passing out another great gift.
ssssssshhhhhh! don’t tell! they are all getting………..
LIP BALM!
AND IT ONLY COST .50 A TUBE (INCLUDING SHIPPING)!
WE LOVED THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NO LABOR INVOLVED, HAH!
HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO WRAP 200 TUBES? IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER BUT (oh whoops, i didn’t realize i was yelling in all caps) they come in their own little sealed bag & it wasn’t so easy to wrap. i’m sure there’s a really easy way to do it, i just didn’t figure it out.
gotta get back to wrapping & attaching gift tags now.
thanks, beckie, for hosting penneywise & all the other parties. you are one busy & creative gal!
and i hope you all have a very merry & blessed Christmas.
peace -

I love it. Thanks for linking up. You were still on time.
So Cute...definitely post those sewing instructions for the tissue holders!
When I wrap things that are tube-shaped, I just make them look like a piece of candy. Wrap paper around, tape in the middle, & tie the ends with curling ribbon instead of folding & taping.
