someone’s daughter, someone’s child

image

her parents died & she was placed “in the system”.

moved from home to home, she longed for a family connection.

and she was angry & she was sad.

she ran away in search of someone familiar, a place to belong.

but she ended up in the grips of someone who would make her his slave.

force her into selling herself.

she didn’t choose to do this.

she was forced.

there were no other options.

no one cared.

slavery.

owned by a man.

she was picked up by the police.

placed in juvie.

arrest the pimps, not the slaves.

change the laws.

prostitution is not the crime.

human slavery is.

but the story wasn’t over for her.

someone stepped in.

someone who had walked in her shoes.

someone who had escaped and would do everything within her might to ensure that the girl would never again be a victim.

one week ago the girl graduated from high school as the valedictorian of her class.

by the grace of God, she is no longer angry and she is no longer sad.

now she desires to help others who are victims of human trafficking.

now she is a daughter of the Lord Most High.

now she is a child of God.

***until last year, i thought human trafficking only happened in other countries. i didn’t realize it was happening just a couple of miles from my house.

go to: www.rahabshideaway.org to find out more. go here for how you can help stop human trafficking by helping to pass this law.

remember that they are someone’s daughter (or son), someone’s child.***

go here to read how one church is trying to help.

This is powerful! A friend of mine is connected to a group who is trying to minister to prostitutes. It's here in Columbus. She's setting up a tea for them in September. I am amazed at how the word is spreading about this--people need to know it's going on.

God is love. God is in the people who stretch out a hand to help and not condemn. The Holy Spirit is in the girl who can open her heart to love and strength.
